“We don’t need your kind around here!” The words stabbed at her heart as Seng fell to her knees on the cold, dilapidated asphalt. Her cheek stung from the slap just delivered her, and her delicate hands were bleeding from the wounds caused by the men’s boots. Her straight brown hair hung limply in her face as Seng tried to maintain her composure in the face of such racism. The tall, muscular man who hit her laughed and kicked her in the arm, breaking it with an audible crack. Seng shrieked. “Ouch! You asshole! Go away! Leave me alone! I didn’t do anything to you!” She shouted desperately, knowing the only thing these men wanted was an easy rape with no repercussions. Now, with her arm broken, she thought, there was no way she could fight back. Another man from the group, this one a short, fat, balding chap, grabbed her hair and yanked her to her feet, pushing his face right up against hers in a show of dominance. “Look, you Resk bitch, you don’t have to do anything to us. Your kind has done enough to the human race already. Now shut up and take it. You know you want it, right, slut?” His foul, sulfurous breath made Seng gag. He smelled like he hadn’t bathed for weeks and his breath indicated a severe lack of brushing and dental infection to boot. She tried to hold her breath and speak at the same time. “You will not get anything from me, much less a free ride, you dirty, scummy - !” Seng was cut off as the fat man forced a kiss from her, his tongue forcing its way into her mouth. The taste of cheap liquor and bad breath almost rendered her unconscious as she fought back, doing her best to ignore the throbbing, increasing pain in her left arm. “Ugh! Get off me, you slimeball! I’m not afraid of you,” she lied. “I’m not afraid of any of you! Now let me go or I’ll give you something to hate me for, got it?” Her threat made the tall man laugh, his plaid shirt and padded vest stretching to accommodate his expanding chest. “You dumb cunt, you think you can intimidate us with that dumb threat? What are you going to do, throw us with your mind powers? Kill us with your evil eye? What can a dumb bitch like you do to a group of seven odd men with guns, huh?” Seng eyed the holsters she had taken note of earlier when the lynchers had first cornered her in the alleyway. Most of them were empty, but three of the gangsters were really packing heat. A sly smile grew on her mouth as she tried to think of an escape plan. “You’re wrong. Three of you have guns. The four who don’t are too drunk to do much to me beyond cheering you on. And I can’t do those things, as I’m not a telepath or a telekinetic. But if you don’t let me go right now, you will rue the day you got the idea to try to rape and kill me, you filthy, unintelligent bastard!” Her forceful tone took the tall man aback for a moment. The fat man’s grip on her hair changed as he dragged her to the left a few inches. He wrapped his free arm around and groped her left breast. Seng snapped, throwing him over her shoulder in a fit of pure rage. “Whaaa – oof!” He shouted, landing on his back. The air was forced from his lungs on impact and he took a moment to recover. Seng’s eyes clouded over with fury as she began slowing backing out of the alleyway, clutching her arm to keep it from moving around too much. “All of you take this as a lesson. I may be Reskian and I maybe a small female Reskian, but I am not a target. I don’t take shit from you human asswipes any more than I would take it from a Reskian, and when I say let me go, I mean let me the fuck GO.” The tall man was staring at this tiny five-foot-one creature with amazement. A few of the others were tending to their fallen friend. “Now, as I stated before, Frederick Maxwell Hasten, you will regret this day to the day you die.” Her dangerous tone and snail-paced backward motion gave the tall man the creeps, compounded by the use of his full name. “How the shit do you know my name, bitch?” He demanded, closing the distance between them fairly menacingly. Seng watched his posture change from shocked to angry and knew it was time to run. “Let’s put it this way, champ,” she called out, retreating more quickly. “You may think I’m weak and helpless, but this Resk bitch is stronger than any human alive. Don’t tempt me to kill you or you may get your deathwish granted afterall!” Seng finished, turning around and darting off to the left, disappearing into the cool twilight mist most humans avoided due to the high rate of radioactive material floating in each tiny water speck. |
