A Mistake

A Mistake



It slows me down,

It ingulfs my brain,

It fills my stomach with butterflies;

Not the good kind, either.

They fly about in there like a swarm of bees,

Just waiting for me to let them out.

But I won't,

I can't,

Even if I wanted to.

I am running and going nowhere,

Trapped in this box.

I need to keep this inside,

Under lock and key.

I can't let it out

because then,

I wouldn't be the only one dissapointed in myself.
