She was drawn to his strapping body,
Admired his overt manliness.
He smelled of pure masculinity.
Only acquainted, yet she obsessed.

The day came the he-man asked her out. 
With no delay she gave her consent. 
Despite his egotistical ways, 
Together a couple they remained.

She found him forceful and militant, 
But he could change, she knew he could change. 
Ignoring the strong words of abuse, 
Hiding the bruises, she ne'er gave up.

Willing to pay the price for this love, 
Patiently teaching skills of respect.
Trying to get him to change his ways
From chauvinistic to an equal love.

She tried to calm his ways, aggressive, 
Domineering, brash and commanding. 
Never did she know he would teach her,
