Day 2

So today when i woke up, i decided to read some manga that i got yesterday.

And it had to do with graduating (good timing since im about to)

and it just made me kind of depressed.

This morning my mother and i talked about my father. He is still present in our lives, to me and my brother is his a good father. But to my mother he is a bad husband. He has explosive temper tendencies. When i was little, during hurricane Katrina, the storm knocked out the power for my neighbor hood for about week. During that week multiple houses were stolen from and damaged. Some of my neighbors took it upon them selves to personally guard our street, so that none of our houses be damaged. Us being kids we saw this as a opportunity to have kind of like a out side camping night. Most of the kids on my street and their parents were going to stay the whole night. I was about 7 at the time and my brother was 8. We both wanted to stay out with our friends, so when my mother came to collect us we went into the house i tried to convince her to let us stay. My father comes out of the bedroom extremely mad. I would have under stood if he only got mad at us but he took it upon him self to yell across the street at every one telling them that what they did was stupid and a waste of time. I was extremely mortified. After that our neighbors stopped talking to us (most of them, my neighbor across from us and my next door neighbors are the only ones who presently talk to us, others have moved away and the new couples are pleasant to us).

I had a neighbor who every Christmas would bring us small gifts nothing to extravagant, after this incident they stopped talking to us completely and obviously the gifts stopped to.

A few days ago in school my iPod was stolen from my book bag. The iPod was my birthday gift and was a award from my parents for getting president honor roll in my school. My father promised me the other day that i would be able to buy an older generation iPod this coming Tuesday. My mother came to me the other night and sat down and told me that because of my moms and dads low paying jobs (my mother is a part timing waitress who speaks very little English, and my father is a cook in a dim sum restaurant) that i can't buy it. So i have decided to pay for it my self. I currently have 65 dollars saved, separate from my own savings for college. I just hope that i can find enough money. Because the jobs i mentioned earlier i planned on saving the money for college because my parents haven't saved enough money for me or my older brother to go to college. I'll probably have to get a scholarship or take out many school loans.

I want to either work in a publishing house as a proof reader, or maybe work in the heath care field. Both fields cost a lot of money to go to college for. It's hard not having money. We have 6 people living in the house currently. My grandparents are not fit to work and me and my brother plan on working soon. My parents salary are just enough to get by on. It's sad to see my mom fret and worry over the bills. We are currently on government aid, food stamps and medicade. My brother is working hard to try to attend MIT. He wants to be a computer programmer and designer. I feel so proud of him for this.

I have no other thoughts so thank you for reading and i hope you have a good day.
