Eventually we all must accept our mortality
I know not yet if I'm ready to tread upon your black sands
Or to sail upon your murky waters.
I know not yet if I'm ready to pay the fee
And cross the river into the unknown.

How cruel a trick the Gods play!
Limiting man's days to but a few short moments.
There's so much still left to accomplish
Desires lost to eternity.

Oh universe, how will you judge me?
Does a fate worse than death await me in the depths of Tartarus?
Or will I drink wine with the blessed on the Elysian Islands?
It's too late to worry now
I can only throw myself at mercy's feet.

There's no turning back now lest I face Cerberus' wrath.
I grasp Charon's cold hand and step one foot upon's death's ferry.
Stare back one more time at that which I leave behind,
And in fear and anticipation begin my last journey.
