Echoes across the waters
A song since first memory
Sung for all her daughters

A sad melody of regret
Sung out across a lake
A swan song of sorrow
She sings beside her drake

She sings as one who suffers
She sings as though in pain
Suffering unmistakable
In the tune of the refrain

A sound so ghostly echoes
