It is True

I felt some scars on my heart,
          and I felt like I had been torn apart.
I had been hurt too many times,
          had been told to many lies.

Then there was that August night,
          when you looked deep into my eyes.
That's when I felt my pain go away,
          and I knew I would see brighter days.

When we kissed it felt like magic,
          and I hoped it wouldn't end with tragic.
But when you took my hand in yours
