Someday the chains will be broken |
Oh, there will come a time I see it clearly in my mind When the eyes of the world will be opened This age filled with rage Will be cast into its cage And the whole of the Earth will be rejoicin’ There will be a dire cry That splits apart the sky And the world in its sorrow will be breakin’ The people hand in hand Will march across this land To the doom of the forces of destruction The trumpets in the back Will blare ‘fore we attack Like the sound of thunder come a-rollin' They’ll drop their swords and shields As they flee across the fields And drown themselves into the giant ocean The gates will be smashed As we recall all the past And the tyrant on his throne will be tremblin’ But there’ll be no escape And with every step we take The power of his curse will be liftin’ The tyrant in his fear Of our forces being near Will shriek to himself, “what have I done?” The choirs will sound As his crown breaks on the ground And at last the wild winds of change will come There will be no more war Like in Eden long before With no shame of ourselves to be hidden The fruit from the trees Will all be picked with ease And nothing again will be forbidden The orchestras will play As we bring in the new way And the sun in the sky will be smilin’ And each face, with respect Of what was and what is left Will tilt their heads to the sky and be singin’ |
