Men at war

Withered and bleary,

tired and weary,

the soldier stands,

his post he mans.



wars they fight,

deep at night,

they hold their ground,

aware of all sound.



They show no fear,

nor shed a tear,

arm in arm,

they wait for calm.



good men die,

loved ones cry,

for us they bleed,

the lives we lead.



War isn’t pretty

dirty and gritty

we owe our thanks

to men of all ranks
