A sonnet I wrote for English class.
Shall I compare you to a thunder storm?
Your eyes like lightning flashing fierce in fall.
But lightning's natural, white, and warm,
and yours is angry, cruel, intentional.
Your voice the boom of dark thick thunder is,
it shakes the core of my own consciousness.
The sound makes my heart go sizzle, sizzle, sizz.
It comes expected but, it startles us.
When you go leave, I'll finally have real peace.
The tears'll come down like rain from tired eyes.
I know the day will come, it will all cease,
and all will see the painful horrid lies.
But for now the sky gives me pure sympathy,
for now the darkened sky will weep with me.
