A man's thoughts as his wife is about to pass away
Where did all of the time go?
It seems like your smile was young and vibrant just a few seconds ago.

As we lay here in our final hour together,
there is no wrong and there is no right.
The only righteous thing to do is to fight.

Cling on to the life that you have,
Because I'm not ready to put you in a grave.
You were my queen and I was your king.
I'll never forget the day I gave you that ring.

Now I'm reflecting on the past and all I can focus on are all the words I never said,
All the love I never showed,
And all the emotions I never expressed.

A life time with you wasn't enough, I want more.
It hurts to stare into your eyes knowing there's nothing I can do to save you,
nothing I can do to change our reality and what undoubtedly is.

That your leaving me, even though it isn't by choice.
I still suffer acknowledging the fact that I won't hear your voice.

I'm functioning off of faith. All I can do at this moment is pray that you won't fade away.
I can hope and wish that god will bless me with another day.

It takes every ounce of courage inside me to face you.
As I glance upon you, you appear fearless.
With your last breath you speak the most piercing I love you.

Now your touch is lifeless, your body is motionless.
Your heart is silent, your glow is no longer fluorescent.

Its to late for me to say you were my everything and more.
Living without you, my heart and soul is going to be a chore.

Your gone, my eyes well up as I drop to the floor.
It was fate, but its our destiny to meet again at the pearly gates.
I know you'll be waiting for me at the door.
