Pfizer
My First Dog
Pfizer isn't the first dog in my life, but he is technically the first dog that I thought of as "my dog".
Eddie and I picked him out of the Lee County Animal Shelter after an unusual display of cooperation. Little did I know I was going to miss him so much when he died.
Pfizer passed away due to a deadly chain of health problems. He was a very strong dog and hid his ailments well. He was walking, eating, and talking until the day he couldn't get up. Two days later, he died at the hospital.
Bloodwork revealed Pfizer had advanced stages of
myasthenia gravis,
Myasthenia gravis (mi-uhs-THEE-ne-uh GRA-vis) is characterized by weakness and rapid fatigue of any of the muscles under your voluntary control. The cause of myasthenia gravis is a breakdown in the normal communication between nerves and muscles. See Full Article |
pneumonia (brought on by myasthenia gravis), sepsis (brought on by pneumonia). Finally he died from a thousand blood clots brought on by sepsis.
Pfizer the Hunter
Pfizer was a born hunter. Often, he'd run out into a field and catch a bird, a squirrel, a rat, or a bunny. One day, he found a nest of bunnies.
Pfizer's Puzzle Pirates Character
I met
splasher on Puzzle Pirates. One day, he surprised me with a dog, which I named Pfizer, after my real dog Pfizer.
A Great Companion
Pfizer was a great companion, always eager to travel. We shared many nature walks, and pet store visits. I regret that I was able to take him to the dog beach only one time.
