A poem about a man on death row
For years I've been within these walls.
I hear a voice, who is that who calls?
Its the reaper I knew he was coming.
My body shakes, I think I'm numbing.

He approaches me with a glare.
He can hurt me, I don't care.
He's taking me for my proficiency,
which is causing tons of catastrophe.

Dragging me down the hallway.
What's the hold up what's the delay.
I know my crimes are unforgiving,
but will this heal all the grieving?

He straps me to the chair.
Save me, does anyone care?
I close my eyes and start praying,
I can see all my victims that he's naming.

He puts his hands on the switch.
The witnesses try not to flinch.
My victim's family, why are you crying?
Aren't you happy that I am finally dying?
