The blonde In the midst of the trees a creature held its breath not to be seen. It crawled on the soil and crept under the starless sky. Her eyes were gleaming in the darkness. Her gaze was on a lit house that looked more like a castle and fell on its luminous glass windows. Inside, figures were dancing, holding hands and twirling on the dance floor. The women were radiant in long dresses and wearing blinding jewels. The men were tall and handsome leaning in to grasp them and hold their waists in the rhythm of the music. The creature went closer. She left the shadows of the forest and crawled towards the castle. As soon as she reached the long stairway she rose her body and let her hair fall. The doors opened as though an invisible hand had pushed them and she went in. It was as though the air was sucked out of the room. The heads turned to see the woman who just came in. She had the face of an angel. Pale skin and full dark lips. Big shadowy eyes. A tiny elegant nose. And a halo of golden hair that fell lightly on her shoulders and continued to her waist. In the crowd she found what she was looking for. The man that she wanted to spend the night with. He was the most handsome man in the room, with dark eyes and wide shoulders. He was dancing with a thin brunette. The blonde knew that the battle was over before it even started. She whispered in his ear and let her cold breath touch his cheek as she went by, and danced with another stranger. He turned to look at her and abandoned the petit brunette. He asked to dance with her. She said she wanted some fresh night air. Before they reached the balcony, she led him upstairs. Before the night was over, he had given his body to her time and time again. When all was over, she sank her sharp teeth in the soft collar of his neck and drank every drop of his blood. She left the castle at dawn, leaving a corpse behind, thinking how easy life was for a blonde Vampire. |
