For the hurricane season we prepare for the worst but all in all we seek the best outcome.
Kicking up a Storm:

The hurricane season is here and the storm runners are keen;
Mark! Set! Go! ... out through the gate goes the storm Irene.
Shocking news come each and every hour
As Irene roars and demolishes electric power.

Rush! rush! rush! here comes the gruesome Irene;
She comes blowing and waving ... bringing rain, wind and gust on the scene.
Let's get ready and prepare tin foods: ham, chicken and butter bean
And make sure that our surroundings are sanitary, sturdy and clean.

She's on the radar out from afar;
Born in the Atlantic she's now a star
With intensity and speed surpassing a racing car;
Powerful as a goddess with victory on par.

Fierce winds whipped but to God our faith hinges;
Concerned Mayors and Governors issued warnings for the eastern fringes.
Millions got evacuation orders to leave low line areas;
Fearing Irene's stormy surges we secured doors and windows with firm barriers.

All hoped and wished
But from ocean to land Irene switched.
First, the Bahamas
Then the 'Carolinas'.

Hey! Washington, New Jersey,New York City and New England;
Watch out! watch out! devastation is at hand.
Irene shouted, "God save your luck!" ...
"My sister is coming (with a category 4) all packed-up!!!
