Shari finds a TV that can see 1 day into the future.

Prologue
My heart pounded every time I heard the boards groan under the pressure of my weight. I was at the state of a full blown paranoia attack, when I truly heard what I had been straining to hear: whispers. The type of whisper that you know weren't EVER supposed to hear. But here I am listening to the exact description of what I had found in my grandmothers attic. The TV that isn't what it seems, the one that doesn't work quite right...... Or maybe I was supposed to hear this so I would know that if I told anyone, my life would be messed up beyond repair.Well maybe it already was beyond repair. And from what I can hear the people below me don't even think that the person they are looking for is right in this very house. But that is beside the point, I was (at this very moment) hearing about part of my death.
3 Days Earlier
I walked up the rickety stairs hoping they would hold my weight. The attic door swung open with ease, I looked around and saw nothing but dust and a black box. Intrigued I stepped towards it, and found that it was a cloth covering something. I pulled it off and found that it was a TV Well that was a waste of time! Its just a TV... Oh well I can use it later. I tromped back downstairs to see what other secrets this house held.
After about an hour of looking I didn't find anything of interest. Bored out of my mind I walked more carefully than before up the stairs that led to the attic. I opened the door and walked directly to the TV and plugged it in.  After a few minutes of messing with it, I finally got it to tune in to a channel: the news. It was channel 8 news and the announcer said there had been a drive by shooting, at 27th and Trinity. Some people these days, I'm surprised that there weren't as many deaths as there were. Then a red alert signal popped in the middle of the screen and a man  (who I presume is in charge of the weather station) appeared and said" Expect rough winds and heavy rain. We advise you to stay inside." Then they went on rambling about how to stay away from trees and blah blah blah.I was suddenly overtaking with a huge yawn, so I unplugged the TV and went to sleep.
When I woke in the morning the first thing I heard was the TV in the living room blaring the news.  I went to the living room and sat down next to grandma and watched the news. It was all normal until I saw the same announcer saying that there had been a drive by shooting at 27th and trinity, just like yesterday. I was about to ask grandma why they were playing the same story as yesterday, then I saw the red alert screen. At that moment it hit me, the TV showed you one day into the future!
Excited I excused myself and nearly  ran into my mom. "Hi honey, why the rush?" She asked. "Nothing" I say quickly and force myself to walk calmly to the stairs. That's when I heard the sound of steps above me. That stopped me in my tracks because my grandma and mom were in the living room. Who could be up there? I take the stairs one at a time, straining my ears. Until I hear whispers, There were two of them. They were talking in hushed voices, but I could hear them mentioning my name, then "find her." I heard steps walk towards the door, I quickly stepped into a tiny crevice in the wall.
Once they leave, I run up the stairs and turn on the TV, The TV turns on and I see a picture of an old woman, Maggie.  Maggie an 90 year old woman (rumored crazy), works in a old antique shop a few blocks from here. The description at the bottom says "mugging in the park? A woman was mugged in the park in broad daylight, walking through the park to get to her house at around 4 in the evening" Now that's just sick! Mugging a poor old defenseless woman? I stand up disgusted and trip over a uneven floor board. I land hard on my knee, and know that's going to bruise. I climb back up and limp my way down the stairs, that seem uneven and rougher than before.  Then I quickly head to bed.
The moment I close my eyes I am thrown into a dream I can only describe as a nightmarish pit of misery. The ground beneath my feet is damp with rain, and the air thick with humidity. I wipe the sweat from my forehead and start to wander forward. Suddenly all I can hear is the deafening sound of multiple gunshots and the squealing of tires. The damp ground becomes more spongey and the liquid at my feet thick. I reach out a hand to inspect the "liquid" and realize I'm standing in a pool of blood. Sickened I start to run. I hobble through the thick blood for what seems like hours. With no relief in sight I drop to the ground.
I try to cry but I'm unable to, I reach a hand up to my face to rub my eye. To my horror my hand is not my own, but a old woman's, wrinkly and worn with age. With no warning I am lifted from the ground by a a man. I try to scream but I'm silenced the feel of a gun against my head. The man starts to check my pockets, he pulls out a wallet and some gum. He takes them both, but decides he can't just leave me, so he punches me and I crumple to ground with the force. The pain is unbearable, I faint into a black abyss.
I jolt up in bed covered in sweat and feeling lightheaded. I inspect my hand and realize it was it was just a dream.. The TV must have really scared me. I get up and stumble my way through the dark halls to the bathroom and take a long drink from the faucet.
