Daniel Valentine owns The Golden Guitar Rock Club in East Barclay. He has a daughter Maxi Valentine who sings at the club and also hires the bands and musicians who play there. They are about to celebrate 30 years of success.

But Daniel has two problems. The club has a big financial debt owed to man who now wants the club as payment. Daniel also has a terminal illness about to claim his life.

As time is running out for Daniel, he entrusts Dean Tully, his daughter's ex-lover and his best friend Barry Edwards with his secrets that he has kept from Maxi in order to protect her when he has gone. One of them betrays him and ends up dead. the other carries out his wishes.

But things start to spiral out of control as Daniel's life hangs in the balance when he has a heart attack at the party. Charles Hart is prepared to do anything to take what is owed to him. Even if it means murder!
