"In a hostage crisis, an intervention occurs and Will's soul is saved from damnation"
“Everybody down on the floor and don't move!" he snarled.

Jan looked up from her hiding place behind the counter and saw him out of the corner of her eye. To her right stood a huge hoodlum with gang tattoos ingrained all over the upper part of his body.  He thrust his brawny arm forward, wielding a fully automatic machine gun, waving it a hair's breadth from her head.  His steel blue eyes met hers, sending a deep chill down through her heart.  He ignored her presence and pulled his greasy t-shirt up to his face, wiping rivulets of sweat from his face as they poured from his brow.

"You're all going to die!" he bellowed half-crazed, swinging the weapon around the room.

How could this happen? Jan thought.

Fifteen minutes ago she entered Mc Burger's in a carefree manner and ordered her meal.  She sat down to eat it, when she heard this psychopath screaming at everyone.  He forced them to lie down on the food-soiled floor.  Everyone obeyed, except for Jan, who was hiding and one man sitting pensively at the back of the restaurant casually sipping a drink.  The gunman glanced over his shoulder menacingly at the table where the man sat.

"Are you deaf?" he yelled.  "Why aren't you moving?”

Jan trembled, wishing she could look away.  She fully expected to hear gunfire and to see the man fall to the ground.  Instead, she saw him standing.  He was extremely tall. He brushed his tousled blonde curls, hanging over his piercing green eyes.  A radiant glow seemed to cascade down on his shoulders as he cocked his head to one side and answered.

"Are you addressing me?"  He smoothed his white suit carefully and walked leisurely over to where the thug was standing. “Be careful, Will. You don’t know who you are dealing with, and what I’m capable of."

"How do you know my name?" Will hissed through curled lips.

"I know everything about you, Will, from the time you were eight years old and your father beat you.  To the time when you cried out despairingly to God, at the bedside of your older brother, Mark, who was dying from a gunshot wound to the chest. My name is 'Median,' the man answered quietly, as he toyed with a large ruby stone swinging from a chain on his neck. “I am here to help you make the right choice. If you don’t, some very unpleasant things will happen to you."

Will lunged at Median, yelling, “Who the Hell are you?"

Before he could reach him, the man turned and grabbed Will's arm.  He lifted him like a feather, high in the air.  For a moment, Will hung suspended, like a limp rag doll.  Median's face became dark and rigid. He seemed to grow impatient with this ruffian.  He looked up at Will who was whimpering like a child.

"Let me down," he said.

"I warned you about who you are dealing with," Median told him sternly.

A mysterious cloud appeared out of nowhere and descended where they were standing. An angel stepped out of it, who was taller and larger than Median, but was dressed differently.  He wore a white flowing gown and around his waist was a belt of shimmering jewels.  His feet were adorned with gold sandals engraved with strange symbols, and in his hand he held a sword of burning colors.

He turned toward Median and spoke to him with authority.

"Let Will down, and tell everyone to get up off the floor and leave this place immediately! God has spoken, let it be so."

Jan watched as the people got up off the floor as if in a trance, and peacefully left the restaurant one by one.

"Now bring Will before me," he said. The big man started to tremble, as he knelt down in front of the stranger. "Get up off your knees," he said.  "You do not kneel before me.  God has decided to intervene on your behalf.  These are highly unusual circumstances.  You will be sent back to the time of your birth, and will be given different parents, who will provide you with the love and care you have never received. You have been given a second chance.  God has spoken, let it be so. Median, prepare Will for departure."

Tears of remorse began to flow profusely down Will's cheeks.  He could not believe what was happening. His life was filled with such pain and turmoil, but now he was given a second chance. God had intervened on his behalf.  It was all so strange, yet he felt he must obey this man's commands.

”Now you will be reborn and have a new family,"  Median said.

Then he grabbed a hold of Median's hand and stepped into the cloud, and Jan watched them disappear out of sight.
