The door opened fast, slamming into Jacob's knee as he brought it up. He winced in pain and pulled it back, setting it down lightly to balance it. "I am so sorry!" A young woman cried, emerging from the rich, white limosine. Jacob cracked a smile with the edge of his lips. "It's fine, I'm just really clumpsy." He assured warm-heartedly. The woman was very beautiful, her lushious blonde hair drifting across her pale shoulder with the sudden breeze rolling in. Jacob stared blankly, causing her to blush. "I'm Elena." She said, holding her hand out. Jacob took her hand up and kissed her hand. She giggled. "Oh, such a gentlemen!" She said sarcastically, and they both laughed. She tilted her head as he let her hand slip through his. "And you are?" Jacob thought for a quick second, and instantly came to a conclusion. "You'll have to wait until our next meeting." He said politely, she opened her mouth to speak, but she was speechless. Jacob turned left and walked into the hotel with his hands in his pockets. Marcus met him at the edge of the lobby, just before the elevator. "Oh, hey. Glad you made it. We're staying in room A14." Mark said, shifting his multiple folders from one underarm to the other, pulling a flimsy silver key card from his pocket and handing it to Jacob, who accepted it and pressed the down arrow in order to operate the elevator. "What's with all of the folders?" Asked Jacob. Mark moved them down to his palms, revealing a baige folder sitting atop the rest, with a few papers sticking out. Jake took it and began reviewing it's material. His eyes widened. Mark said nothing. But, I never would have imagined he would have cancer." Jacob continued reading, never lifting his head from the papers as he sifted through them. "I hate to say it, but there is a very high possibility that he is the one who sent you the email. We have to speak to him." Jacob nodded, keeping his eyes glued to the information. A bell rung and the elevator opened. Both Jacob and Marcus turned there heads to watch as a young man stepped forward. He stopped to exchange glances with the two detectives. The young man was Jake's height, about 5'10", with a light build. He had short, brown hair with sinister red eyes that bled a strange innocence that didn't match his soul. Jacob analyzed him in a second, and watched as the young man walked by, not giving them a second look. When he exited the hotel, Jacob burst into laughter. "What is so funny?" Mark asked. Jacob whipped a tear from his eye and answered his associates question. "That, my friend, was Lance McGraff." Mark brought his head closer to Jake's. "You aren't serious." He said. Jacob was trying his hardest not to laugh. "His backpack has a stitching on the back that has his school's emblem. He matches the description on the biography paper. And of course, his eyes." Mark twisted his head to watch the lobby entrance. "His eyes?" He asked. Jake nodded, entering the elevator. Mark followed. Jacob waited until the doors began to close to answer with "He has the eyes of a killer." |
