The Storm Inside

Title speaks for itself

After falling time and time again
because I can’t keep my heart in check;
chaos surrounds me,
but doesn’t deter me one bit.
Every time we meet,
the heavens open up
and a storm rages inside me.
The rumble from the thunder,
the strikes from the lightening;
for you, feed my hunger
and makes life so exciting.
I don’t notice until it is much too late
that the rise of rushing waters
are about to sweep me away.
But there is nothing I can do
except fall into the deep
and allow all the emotions
to engulf me.
When I come to-
and I realize we are miles apart,
reality sets in
and my heart drops.
I say there will never be a next time,
that I can do without this roller coaster ride.
But then I’ll see you again
and I will look into your eyes;
then all the protests are silenced
by the storm brewing inside.
