Cold Case Mystery |
Chapter Four I finished my meeting with Captain Waiwright a little after two. The smug bastard made me sit outside his office for fifteen minutes before we began; even though I'd been five minutes early. After allot of bickering he agreed to make my next report in a week. It made more sense, since leads were few and far between. Talbert and I headed out to Masterson's home, and pulled in his drive. I switched off the engine and turned to Talbert. " Let's see if he has any recollection of Molly Wentworth, and Donna Fullbright. " Masterson greeted us at the door and we sat in the neat livingroom that looked lived in. " What brings you guys back out so soon? " He asked as he sat in his leather recliner. " Not that I mind," He chuckled." I don't get much company these days, what with the kids grown and all." " You remember Ida Withers, now Ida Greenwald , don't you? " I asked. He frowned for a moment before speaking." Oh, yeah. The daughter. She was just a youngster at the time. I talked with her, but, she was gone at the time her dad was killed. " " She was next door at the Wentworths. " I said." Do you remember Molly Wentworth? " " Vaguely." He smiled." I guess my memory isn't as good as it used to be." " Molly had a cousin staying with her that night; Donna Fullbright. " Talbert said. " Did you talk to her ?" " No," He said." I didn't know there was another girl at the Wentworths." " So, you never talked with her? " Talbert said. " Nope." " We're trying to track her down, but, it's going to be some time before we can do an interview." I said. |
