welcome to my brain

                            If the cat goes “meow”

                        , and the dog goes “woof”

                          then the lamb goes “baaa!”

                  But what if, by chance, the dog went “baaa”,

              and the cat went “woof”, and the lamb went “meow”?

                          What would happen then?

                      Would the goldfish turn purple,

                        and the llama turn green?

              Would up be down and change everything?

                Could water and oil then mix together?

                  Or would pumpkins be carriages,

                        and mice white steeds.

  Would the heroes be jailed and the villains rewarded for their evil deeds?

              If all things odd and all things queer became real,

              would it be too much to handle, too much to feel?

                                Might gravity turn light,

                                and feathers to lead;

might we live forever, and not have to worry about ever being dead?

                  These are what haunt me day and night;

                          in my topsy turby world,

                          nothing is normal or right.
