Jhansi ki Rani

Manikarnika, born in 1835

the India which grew old

gave it a youthful life

the dolls and bangles were expected to be in the little girl's hand

but the little girl could be found carrying a sword and riding a horse in the

Indian land

At the age of 14, to Gangadhar Rao the ruler of Jhansi she was married

to the royal palace she was carried

Rani Lakshmi Bai was now her name

she is the only one whom today India gives millions of fame

Prince Damodar Rao was her son

for about three months there was frolic and fun

but suddenly the prince died

both the king and the queen cried

still her luck she tried

now even the king died

the water in her eyes for many days didn't dry

the eyes of britishers were on the Jhansi fort

to protect Jhansi queen took an oath

A long struggle took place between the britishers and the queen

Queen was meek but the britishers were mean

By some rebellions the britishers captured Jhansi fort

this jolly message for them they wrote to the England court

Now Queen captured the Gwalior fort

But britishers still carried their tort

A mighty fight took place between the britishers and the queen

this was a sort of fight which was never ever seen

during her fight she fell in the valley, died and was declared dead

but the Indians insisted she was still alive with their faces red

she is still alive in our heart and will be ever
