A quick poem I just wrote. Not really edited or anything. Here it is.
Sometimes I think it's all too much
too hard to decide, you're too hard to trust
and sometimes it seems, between you and me
there's really nothing more than chemistry
and you speak slowly, make sure I understand
your reasons for leaving and treating me bad
but deep down inside on the brink of your skin
I know you're falling and pulling me in.
But you keep up your logic, it's your only protection
against your own shattered, scrambled reflection
and in your midst of relaying boundaries
I know it was you, not fate, that found me.
So spread out your love and fill the gaps with mystery
tell me you don't care then ask for my history.
You're the liar when you refuse to believe me
you play games like a chess board, check mate, and leave me.
So toss and turn and sweat in your sleep
we both should've known the first cut is too deep
and you'll try to heal all the things you have hidden
try to come into my life and act like you fit in.
Honey, you don't belong in my head or my heart
and I pray, for your sake, it ends before the start
cause you came out of no where and you think you've won
call me sweetie and tell me I'm too young
in your condescending, mood swinging nature
tell me you want me then find solstice in her
and say you care about everyone except me
then show up out of the blue and try to protect me
but I'm not yours to protect, you're not my knight
just a pretty-eyed boy standing under moon-light
speaking your riddles then sewing the silence
and testing my strength, my fading defiance
you think I'll give in but I know all to well
that you show me heaven then put me through hell
you forward the blame, you didn't have to let her
and I'll walk away knowing I can do better.
