Second Coming

A radiant column of light
Penetrates the sinful land
Humanity, some, flee from fright
While others seek God's hand.
Some would view the event with dread
While others would see with glee
The unfaithful, and the fearful, dead
The faithful, and the hopeful, trinity.

This is the cleansing of the Earth that I long for
For the atrocities of humanity have taken their toll
The answer to humanity's blackness of their core
Selfishness engulfs the heart of most whole.
The Earth I want is an Earth treated with respect
The Earth I want is an Earth treated with dignity
The Earth I see is an Earth treated with neglect
The only salvation I see is from the prophesied trinity.

No, do not weep for the end of days
For justice will be at hand
The injustice and evil ways
Will be severed from the land.
And the radiant column of light
Will cure the sickened Earth
Through the Kingdom of Heaven, justiced might
The birth of The New Earth.
