A toddler is spending the day with his grandparents.
My grandma waddles after me;
I have her glasses - she can't see.
I run a tipsy toddle style;
she tries to follow for a while.

Her dentures click and clack about
as she and Gramps begin to shout.
I let her grab me in the yard;
her face is red, she's breathing hard.

She straps me in the highest chair;
I'm trapped just like a thief in there.
She tries to feed me gooey stuff,
but I escape, run in the buff.

My grandpa tries to chase me, too,
but only one foot has a shoe.
I run around the lawn with ease,
but Grandpa wobbles with his knees.

With dirt and mud up to my head,
my bare feet dance back to the bed.
I climb the crib and fall inside,
then Teddy shows me where to hide.

I giggle from inside my crib,
without my clothes and just a bib.
My gram and gramps fall fast asleep
upon the couch without a peep.

My mom comes in, I falsely cry;
she wakes her folks to say goodbye.
I will return, it's getting late;
my gram and gramps can hardly wait.
