Poem - Describes a wish for a special place |
Patricia’s Secret Garden Dreams of a place to call her own, Where the mind’s solace paints the tone, The absence of strife that tests her will, A place where time and life stands still. A garden small yet serene abounds, Obscuring the world beyond its grounds, Though actual life is close at hand, Seems as though a far off land. Melodic songs from birds in the trees, As scent of Jasmine float on the breeze, Where Sunshine highlights the gold in her hair, This world is hers yet willing to share. Where flowers bloom in vivid display, Gifting her witness in visual array, The Butterflies wing from flower to bloom, Caching the Nectar compelled to consume. The Earth beyond this spiritual place, Will often seem cruel, lacking in Grace, There will always be turmoil regardless of cause, While every thing’s safe within these walls. Listen to the Wind as it flows through the Tree, A subtle message to hear and see, This place in time shall truly be blessed, Creating a world apart from the rest. One day when we’re old, aged in years, And the rest of the world is not as appears, We’ll walk the Garden much slower then, Reminiscent and smile of times back when. The need of such place is more than desire, We’ll share this space to reflect and inspire, Her Secret Garden, she’ll have someday, Sometime in Life, along the way. George T. Regenauer |
