A poem about a brave man

IS THAT IT?

Life goes on and all that crap.
He’s gone.
The damned cancer invaded
With the confidence of a diva.
He didn’t have a chance
Just caved in
Despite the brave fight.
His body re –formed
Into
An alabaster shell,
So fragile it might break,
In arms desperately grasping.
The removal of remains,
Will not erase his lovely smile,
His embracing humour.
Nor the memory of the quiet disappointment,
In the eyes of a Warrior
Who’s only legacy to those remaining,
Silently screaming,
Is the brave hero he chose to be?

The  bloody cancer outwitted by his valour,
A self-styled fortress he built.
