EAT stories grab the attention of picky eaters and help them finish their meal.
EAT STORY 1: ARMHANDA TRICKS THE BLOB

EAT Stories are stories for picky eaters. If your mom or dad or grandma or aunty is always telling you to “stop complaining and just finish your dinner!” this story is for you. Here’s how it works:  Listen to the story. Whenever you hear the word “EAT,” or “EATs,” or “EATing,”you have to take a bite. You can take extra bites if you want, but you have to take a bite when you hear, “EAT.” If you still have food left when the story is finished and want to hear the story again, that’s OK too.  Let’s begin.

Once there was a small sea cucumber named Armhanda. Armhanda was soft and pink and long. But she had no arms or legs. She didn’t even have a head. All she had was four little tentacles, two stalk eyes, and a mouth to EAT her food.

Armhanda’s favorite food was actually buttered popcorn Jelly Bellies, but they were hard to get when you lived at the bottom of the ocean. Her second favorite food was starfish pellets. She would usually EAT 22 starfish pellets every day.

Every morning Armhanda would slime over to the sea cucumber park where she would spend all day playing with her friends. Sea cucumbers don’t go to school like fish do. Sea cucumbers only play and EAT.

When Armhanda got to the park she saw her best friend, Legfootina. “Hi Legfootina, what’s up?” she yelled out. Legfootina slimed over as fast as she could slime.

“Hi Armhanda; come and play! First we’re going on the round-a-bottom, then we’re going to EAT some prickly starfish pellets.”

The two sea cucumber friends slimed over to the round-a-bottom. It was spinning around and around on its blue-black, blubbery bottom. Two sea cucumbers were sticking on tight and two others were waiting for their turn. One of them was EATing a shrimp stick.

He turned and looked at Armhanda with his stalk eyes. “Hi Armhanda, I can see your tentacles,” he sneered.

“So what, Nostrilnosian!” she snapped at him.  “Everybody has tentacles. That’s how we put food in our mouth to EAT.”

“Ha ha ha, just kidding,” he said. Nostrilnosian was always trying to be funny, but usually he wasn’t.  Suddenly, the other sea cucumbers started squealing, “Quick! Slime! Hard! It’s Eyelashbrowblinky! He’s coming to EAT us!”

Everyone slimed away as fast as they could and tried to hide. Nostrilnosian slimed under the round-a-bottom. Legfootina slimed into the Forest Frank. Armhanda slimed towards the sea weed fence, but before she got there, Eyelashbrowblinky splashed in front of her face.

“Gotcha! Now I’m gonna EATcha!” He yelled in her face with his stinky breath.

Eyelashbrowblinky was a big, fat, round, blobfish with two big ugly eyes and a stinky mouth. Everyone was afraid of him because he smelled so bad, and because he liked to EAT sea cucumbers.

“Please leave me alone,” said Armhanda. “If you do, I’ll find something real tasty for you, something you’ll like a lot better than sea cucumbers.”

“Like what?” he asked.

“Like starfish pellets!”

“No way! Those are for sea cucumbers. I’m a blobfish. I need to EAT something more meaty!”

“How about octopus armpits?” Armhanda asked.

“No way! Those are too dainty. I need to EAT something bigger than that.”

“Well, maybe some bilge patties?” Armhanda suggested.

“What are bilge patties?” Eyelashbrowblinky asked. He’d never heard of them before, but he needed to EAT something.

“Oh, they’re delicious!” Armhanda said. “You’ll love them! There’s some right over there in the storage hole under that clump of seaweed. Right there! Go try it. No blobfish can EAT just one.”

Eyelashbrowblinky was so curious he had to go see. He blobbed over to the hole under the clump of seaweed, looked in the hole, sniffed the water a bit, then POW, a giant claw grabbed him by his stinky lips and pulled him into the hole.

“Yay! Armhanda saved us! He’ll never come and try to EAT us again!” The sea cucumbers yelled.

Everyone was so happy that they had a party right there in the park. Legfootina and Nostrilnosian danced the slimepurr while everyone clapped their tentacles. Armhanda brought out her favorite glow- in- the- dark green starfish pellets that she had been saving to EAT for her birthday. And they all rode on the round-a-bottom all night long.
