I finally convinced her to get an account! She is really a talented writer. She has a fetish for tragedy's so you'll see her on here as Tragedy Anne. I've added a b-item link to one of her pieces. If you have time, feel free to read :)
So it seems I have hit some writer's block. I've got the opening of the second chapter figured out, but I don't know how to proceed from there. I have some decisions to be made. I know where I want the character's to end up and with what material possessions, I'm just stuck on how to get them there. I have a few options, but I'm worried that I'll get them to the main setting of the book to quickly, or I'll take to long to get them there and I'll end up misdirecting the focus.
Anyways, until I can figure it out, I'll just stick with reviewing other authors pieces.
So, I posted my first chapter last night and have only received one review :( That's okay though, I'll keep adding to it anyways. Hopefully I'll get more reviews soon enough.
I plan to start on Chapter 2 tomorrow, maybe on Wednesday since I do have a lot of work to do at the desk job. In the meantime, I'll keep checking out other people's work and reviewing :)
I am so excited! I have been writing for the last few hours, and I'm almost done with Chapter 1 of my first book! Still working on a title, but I can always pick something out later. I originally deleted my first chapter this evening, not very interested in what I had written up to that point, and I am extremely happy that I did. I've got three solid characters, and the story line is moving along a lot better than what I had originally written.
So far, I've got Kalida (who will be the main character), as well as Nichole and Briana (names subject to change, since these character's are based on two of my friends... who's actual names are Nichole and Briana). I'm writing it in third person, and have done fairly well so far with not mixing up past tense and present tense. I usually have trouble with keeping those separated.
Anyways, things are going fairly well, and hopefully I'll have Chapter 1 done tonight and ready for edits/proofing tomorrow :)
So I deleted the work I had completed on Chapter 1 of Survival. I've decided I'd like to expand a bit more on the Prologue, and I've completely changed ideals in the entire book. So, now that I'm starting over with a more concrete idea, hopefully I'll have that up on here soon enough. In the meantime, go check out the prologue of my friend's first book! She is a talented writer, and has finally made an account! See the link below, and please submit a review! She loves critique, so any suggestions are appreciated!
So, I have added a bit more to my Survival book (definitely going to change the title). It hasn't hit the end of the world part yet, but I'm working up to it. In the meantime, I am still reading up on my friends first book as well. She's three chapter's in and is doing a great job. I'm still trying to convince her to get an account on here. I'll wear her down in time. :)
So, I have created the prologue to my first post apocalyptic novel. It is definitely subject to edits and rewrites, its just a starting point. Anyways, if you are reading this I have provided a link below. Also, be sure to list the chapters "Newest Last" so that the chapters will show in the correct order. I haven't started Chapter One yet, I'm thinking I'll start that tomorrow at work.
Surviving (18+) Follow a group of young adults that attempt to survive the end of the world as we know it. #1867738 by Charlie Marie
I think I'm going to start my first book focused on a post apacolyptic event. Lately I have been obsessed with the end of the world, dystopian novels, and the entire idea of surviving such a catastrophe. We'll see how this goes.
