This is just something that I decided to write in my free time.
As their linen white Altima pulled in front of the entrance the young lady paused to take in all of her surroundings. She noticed the words ' La Vita E Bella' meaning 'Life is Beautiful' that so elegantly hung up over the burgundy double doors. "Ahh," she said turning to face her boyfriend of three years "an Italian restaurant." He nodded in reply. As the young lady stepped out of the car a cool breeze blew at her right arm causing her to turn the opposite direction. She smiled as the bright red color of a rose caught her attention. "Roses are my favorite" she said softly to herself. Hearing this the lady's boyfriend walked over to the bush and picked a single dancing rose then came back and handed it to her without saying a word. "Thank you" she whispered so only he could hear her. Again, the boyfriend nodded in reply. She started to wonder why he hadn't said anything on the ride over either, but decided not to mention it since they were almost inside the restaurant.
The small Italian restaurant was nearly packed full, but the young lady didn't mind one bit. As they waited for the dark haired man behind the podium to check their reservation the aroma of freshly baked bread entered her airways. "Mmm" she caught herself saying a little too loud. "Hungry are we?" asked the man as he glanced over the list once more time. "Well, wait right here." The young lady gave a perplexed look to her boyfriend, but in return he only shrugged his shoulders as if to say, 'Be patient.' Her thoughts soon started to wander back to the smell of the bread when she first entered. Then her grandmother, Arabella, popped into her mind.
The young lady's grandmother was from Bastia, Italy and back when the young lady was just a girl with 'scuffed knees' and long braids her favorite place in the world was in her grandmother's kitchen. Every afternoon when the little girl had finished her chores she would run to her mother and ask if she could go visit with her grandmother Arabella and every time her mother would say, "Well, be on your way then!" The little girl was always so happy with her grandmother because she was always singing and making bread and sometimes, if the little girl was lucky, she would even get to help! The two of them grew very close in the warmth of the grandmother's kitchen and after a while they would just sit and share secrets. "Promise me something" the grandmother said one day after taking a loaf of bread out of the oven. "Yes?" the little girl asked curiously. "Promise me that no matter where you go you'll always remember me and know that I love you." "Of course I will," the little girl said letting out a giggle, "but you'll be here to tell me so I won't have to remember." "Aye my love," the grandmother said, "but if i'm not, remember to be happy." "Yes grandmother" the girl said wrapping her arms around her grandmother's waist, "I promise."
Feeling someone grab at her hand the young lady snapped out of her flashback. Her boyfriend started to point toward a man headed their direction and as soon as she looked up she remembered that he was the man who told them to wait a minute. 'How long has it been?' she thought to herself, but before she could ask the dark haired man was whispering something to her boyfriend. Puzzled, she tried to move in closer, but still couldn't make out what was being said. Giving a quick gland around the room the dark haired man nodded and turned to face them both again. "Okay," he said with a clap, "Right this way!"
~I haven't finished the rest, but I'll try to finish it soon~
