Chapter One

My version of Twilight by Stephanie Meyer. Copyright characters Stephanie Meyer. Copyright Storyline, Beings Of Nature and Shadow Dragons Frances Sweeney.

Hi. I'm Isabella Cullen, but you can call me Bella. This is my story.

                    Chapter 1

The pain was scary I didn't know how it came around. The pain was excruciating. it was like being run over by a lorry, mauled by a cat, chopped to smithereens and being submerged in acid all at the same time. A horrible blackness was pushing down on me all the time. I wanted to give up but I knew that was what it wanted. I had to win. I didn't know why, but I just had to. I managed to stay still and not scream, even though my body should have been flipping about with pain. Even though my voice should be horse from screaming. I don't know how I managed to keep my mouth shut and my body taunt, probably a miracle. I don't know how long had past since the pain began but I started to hear things .Like someone breathing for example. His breaths were slower than my fast paced breathing. I counted his breaths to past the time.14,768 breaths later, I heard someone enter the room.
"Carlisle, I must have done something wrong. She's not doing anything."Came one voice, the one closest to me.
"It's okay," soothed the other voice, Carlisle, "I'm sure you did it right."
"But she's not moving!"the voice closest to me exclaimed.
"She'll be okay. I'll make sure. Just relax."Carlisle said quietly. More soft footsteps. Carlisle must have left. My hearing must be improving. I resumed my count of the persons breathing. 510,678 breaths later, I heard more
footsteps. These footsteps were different from the ones earlier, more rhythmic, almost as if the person was dancing instead of walking.
"Five seconds." Called a high soprano voice. Then, wonders of all wonders, the fiery pain started to fade, ever so slightly from my wrists. Then I realised that the pain was only retreating, retreating back to my heart, the heart of the pain.
"4 seconds." The voice called again.
The pain kept on retreating. The fire in my still beating heart growing hotter and hotter.
"3 seconds." The voice was getting more and more excited.
The pain was at about half way between my knees and the top of my legs. My heart was galloping at speeds I didn't know it could do.
"2 seconds." Yep, the voice was definitely getting excited.
The fire was impossibly getting hotter. If it gets any hotter, I thought, it might explode. I started gasping a bit.
"1 second," Was this some sort of count down?
My back arched with the pain. I dragged ragged breaths through my teeth. The fire in body was pulling back, retreating, to my heart a bit faster now. My beating heart was slowing down and started to stutter here and there. The pain, though still incredible hot, started to dwindle too. Somewhere through this jumble of pain I heard a startled gasp. I wondered who and why. Then the pain suddenly receded a lot quicker. My heart stuttered lots and faltered trying to catch up with the pain, as if to say, 'goodbye.'
The pain was growing smaller, contracting more around my heart. My heart stumbling more and more. Finally the pain ceased. My heart, which was tired and weak, beat once, stuttered and fell silent. My heart was dead. I was alive. I opened my eyes to a new world.
