A character dev. for a play. *(Negative/bitter content)
* Trent throws his hands up. He is tired of this conversation and wants it to end. He is fed up and exhausted.

" Look, does it matter? I'm stuck here. I can't leave and thats final. I have to suck it up and be a 'man' ( Uses air quotes). Do you think I like having to come to this god aweful place and be told i'm an idiot everyday? Especially when I have to live up to everyone's expectations. Be a doctor or a lawyer, donate to charity, be nice, be this. Be that. Why does it matter? Why cant I just be whoever and whatever i want? I cant even pick a career without having someone judge it. So what if i want to be a housekeeper? Or a low end mechanic? Money is just bullshit anyways. People think i'm crazy because i think being a doctor is a bad thing. My friends like me less and less everyday becasue i see how the world really is. They dont wanna hear it. All this life is, is a big waste of time and resources. I have my parents breathing down my back because they want me to graduate and become rich. I dont want that. I dont want to be some Business man who cheats on his wife and hates his children; But its okay because ill have a ton of money. No. Its all about the money. Heck I dont even want to work a low end job because the thought of contributing to this poisoneous society is sickening. But everyone tells me what they think is best for me. Like you miss K. All my teachers. Parents. The governemnt. Im supposed to be this stand up citizen, get a good job, pay my taxes and love my family. Fine. But can i not decide whether  or not I want to be a part of this society? Can I say screw you governemnt and leave? No. Im trapped. I laugh when people say we're free (pauses for a second then shakes his head). I guess what i'm trying to say Miss K. is that im sick of living in this society. We're all being controlled anyways. Why do I want to be like everyone else. My views are different. And no one accepts that. So next time you want to yell at me for not doing my homework, remember how absolutely fricking pointless it really is."

* Trent leans to grab his backpack.

(Thats about as far as ive gotten. Yes. its bitter, thats the point of this character. Does it make sense all in all though?)
