A poem about reaching a place where God must come and save me in order to restore my faith |
-The Black Sky Will Burn- by Keaton Foster Life Needing light Darkness in fright The black sky will burn The world known to me Is about to come to an end Who lit the flame Is not so easily conveyed Guessing is a dangerous game Assumption is significantly More terrifying to me Is there a God above Or is he only a being Of supreme circumstance A being that does what he must Only when forced to act On the behalf of another That has reached the end Of all that he is capable of Is his grace like a weapon Implemented with precision Must it be used to be Kept in working order His way of avoiding redundancy Disguised as sympathy for me Such an answer is unknown to all Who see with their eyes open wide Could this be a way To let me know that Up until this point I have been quite wrong And that somehow now I will be absolutely right Such pontification bled Many thoughts flow free A ramped cesspool of ideas Swirling down into a drain What will remain Will be soaking wet And permanently stained For a lifetime of days People will come to know me One sentence at a time One poetic tryst Stacked in measurable lines All leading somewhere They desperately want to go A great escape through words A cryptic message made clear The black sky will burn What will be left Will be as bright as any life Ever thought possible by me Before such brightness The darkness held its place It hung between me And my ability to have faith The flicker of a flame Has become an inferno Consuming all the darkness My lack of faith is No longer the case I can feel the sun And can see the clouds Forever blue the sky flows Far beyond All that I once knew… The Black Sky Will Burn Written by Keaton Foster Copyright © 2012. |
