A trapped human holding back the forces of darkness.
"I've come to stop you!" Amtrix thrusted forward his bloody sword clenched hand.  "I can't allow you to do this, don't you know what will happen?"

"You think I can choose?  If only you knew what I was doing, what I was preventing, you'd beg me to continue."

"Your wrong, I can see them." He paused and started to stare towards Orion, surrounding him were thousands upon thousands of dark spirits, all were anxious for the strike all being held at striking point.  "Your feeding these, these things!  No more, it has to stop, you can't do this forever, YOU HAVE TO STOP IT!"

"Your right." Orion dropped to his knees and stared at the floor, spirits ever so slowly started to fly at Amtrix, which he easily countered with a quick swing of his sword.  "Why am I trying, I can't win, I have to give up."  Orion collapsed lying face first on the hard stone floor.  Suddenly a dark red light stated to emit from around Orion's body, a bloody red and black hand erupted from his back and out followed a beast that few had ever lived to tell about.  Once completely out of Orion's body, it started to grow it stature until it's head touched the thirty foot tall ceilings.

"Finally, a vessel strong enough to bring me to this world, you are a good servant Orion."

"What do you want?" Amtrix shouted to the demon, "If I can provide you with what you seek will you return from whence you came?"

He spoke in a voice deeper and darker than any hole "I want to see your world burn, to see the women and children cry as they are torn apart, to have my brethren join me, and to rule this world, to rule my world, as a prince should.  This world will burn, and from its ashes will come a world fit for all darkness, fit for me!"

Amtrix's heart started to pound very heavily, he then charged the demon, swung his sword and severed his Achilles tendon.
"Fool!" Cried the demon as he threw Amtrix into one of the adjacent pillars.  Before colliding with the pillar Amtrix thrusted his arm into the air a bright yellow light emitted from it.  An dim energy field surrounded his body and he broke through the pillar as if it weren't there.  He then floated slowly to the ground.  Wings spread from the demon's back, outstretched they looked like webbed talons.  With a mighty thrust he lifted off the ground the broke through the ceiling.  All the torches were instantly put out and Amtrix was thrown flat against the floor.

After a brief moment the demon was gone, and there was a disturbing silence, one that asked all the questions that Amtrax didn't want to face, the light from the full moon lit up the ground around Orion's body.  Amtrax knelt down beside Orion, "Why?  Why did-"  Orion's head started to rotate.  Amtrax jumped back, then regaining his composure, "Your alive!" Amtrax clasped his hands together, a yellow light started to peer through his fingers.  Once he could no longer contain it he threw his hands onto Orion's shoulders.  Amtrax's whole body was shaking and he was in obvious pain.

"What are you doing?" Orion said,

        "I'm saving your life."

"All of the organs in my chest were taken, you can't fix what isn't there."

        "I know."

"Then what are you doing?  You can't create something out of nothing, where are you getting the material for my organs?"

"From mine."  Sweat started to drip from Amtrax's chin.

"No!"  Orion lifted himself as best he could, he was barely able to get into a sitting position, he then tried to push Amtrax's arms off of his shoulders, but with no strength left it was to no avail.  "Stop, you'll die." Orion's voice trailed off as he said it.

"Orion, every soul is worth fighting for, every soul worth dying for." The blue in Amtrax's eyes started to go gray.  "We all deserve a second chance, You were meant for greater things than this."  Suddenly the light disappeared and Amtrax collapsed, he landed in Orion's arms.

"But what about your second chance?" Orion's eyes started to water.

"I already had my second chance, remember, every soul, every sou-" Amtrax's breath faded and he failed to take another.  Orion closed Amtrax's eyes, and started to cry holding him against his chest.

"Thank you." Was all he managed to say.  "Thank you."
