Presidential Election in India

Now a days there is lot of chaos for selection of president in india.
A direct participation of people is not there but a lot of public perception
and interest is involved in it.In the present era of coalition it is the
exigency of the ruling party to have a feeble or loyal( old members) president
who can be used as trump card in some extreme cases
Let us have a constitutional view about president election.
He is elected by the majority of votes of members of parliament,and members of
state legislative s.some of the big states play key role to the election.Still
the post of president in India is very much prestigious and some of the eminent
personalities have lifted it to new height of glory and has shown that a president
is not only a puppet of the ruling party but can play a key role to control the
unhealthy behavior of it and furthermore can creat a good environment of development.
In my view a president is a mentor of the ruling party
