A poem about being lied to

Like honey, words drip from your lips so sweetly
I am mesmerized by the effect they have on me
Lies all lies, but I can’t help but look
And taste, God help me I’m hooked
But you are killing me slowly
Your poison laced honey choking me
Not knowing the other lives you took
I allow my world to be shook
And now I am paying for it all dearly

Footnote: This poem is not meant for everyone to understand. Every thing about it, including the briefness of it, the reference to honey and poison are all significant to a particular event and person in my life. Unfortunately I will not be changing it. Already some of the reviews are saying that it is too short...I am sorry but as I have said, this poem is not meant for everyone to understand. Thanks for reading.
