The Grandfather I never Knew

I wish I could go back in time,and just catch
a glimpse of you.
To see the man who is my grandfather...
A man I never got to know.
I wonder if you were happy,did life bring
you joy untold.
Did you conquer all your dreams.. did you
watch them all unfold.
I wish I'd got to know you... got to see your
heart and soul.
But I never got the chance to--you died when
I was one year old.
I wish you could have been there to watch me
grow and play.
I wish you could have been there with me
on my wedding day.

I wish we could have shared the beauty of a
flower wet with morning dew.
I wish I could have had one day..just one
day with you.
I would have loved to see a sunset..reflected
in your eyes.
And then we could have shared...the majesty
of the sunrise.
I wish you could have told me the
story of your life....

With all it's ups and down..with all
it's joy's and strifes.
I hope the Lord shines down his blessings
on you everyday...
Grandfather I want you to know I Love
You.....more than words could say.
I wish I could go back in time....
