Kittens and String

Balls of yarn, slowly unwind
with a twist and a pounce
of courious play.

String winds around tiny feet
little paws, too many
tripped up
somersaulting.

Pitiful crys
as kittens try to escape
momma cat comes to investigate.

A gentle lick
comforts
wailing crys.

Kittens relaxe
make good their escape

with baleful eyes
they sit and stare
balls of yarn
had them snared.
