The dark made her happy. Made her feel at peace. It made all of her sadness vanish and the few happy moments shine. But tonight was different. Tonight her sadness will prevail and fly over the night sky, mocking her as she sobbed. She wished she could hide her pain from the world but, with no luck, she reached for the cold, black blade that was stashed away between the two mattresses that lay alone on her floor. She cried as she rested the blade on her skin that just barely protected the veins that she longed to rip open. Her leg bounced and her hands shook. This wasn't her first time but she hoped it'd be her last. She begged herself to finish it off but she couldn't press hard enough. The blood dripped like the drops down a window after a cool summer's rain. Her cheeks were hot and drenched with tears. So many different thoughts flashed through her head. The thought of loving someone that wouldn't ever return the same love and of course her mother's once in a life time grin which stuck to her like glue. "Forgive me, mama," she pleaded as the blade sank deeper into her flesh. Not once did she look at the cut but she could feel the pain. But this wasn't her normal pain. This was pain that only brought happiness. A pain that eliminated all sadness and replaced it with peace. This pain was finally out of her body, flying over the night sky, never to bother her again.
