poem about a love i find hard to forget
You were my first love, my first kiss
But no longer will you cross my mind when i look up at a star and make a wish

I'm not bitter, but will never forget
The dreams we had, the fantasies we had set

But now it's over with, your gone, left in the past
love is so strong, but only as long as it lasts

What do we tell ourselves now that we are grown and old?
"It's a patch to be sewn, it's a story to be told"

Just a moment in history may not be enough
and we gave up on the one time that got too tough

Was it love? I don't know, I'm only 16 years old
But the feeling i had could not be felt by being told

What did they say? we are young and immature?
Those words are wrong. I was scared, insecure

Looking for someone to tell me i was perfect
We thought it was deep, but we only scratched the surface

Sometimes I sit and think of what we could have had
no parents, no rules. Run away with you? I'd be glad...

Shoulda, woulda, coulda, there's no time for regrets
but I will always have that doubt of knowing we could've had the best

We sat there as the curtains drew
It's an understatement to say we were fools

But, at the end of the day I hope we both have happiness
In this sappy story, there is no last kiss

One day with my family, I'll see you with yours
Close my eyes and be overwhelmed of all the good my life has endoured
