The sequel to my first poem. I had given up my battle then, while here I fight them! |
[I sat aimlessly on my porch The pair of spectacles lying askew Not a sound of the morning bird Nor the smell of the dew. Out of the blue from the eastern corner The bright sunrays hailed. Then as if to remind me of my wounds My ‘Broken Emotions’ sailed.] The air was damp, the sky sullen, The storm roared ravage. The tides rose and fell like doom Hurling my ship like a savage! The winds pierced the sail. The tides plundered the hull, Washing away the masquerade of colours Leaving a hollow skull! Lightning broke, the thunders screeched My mast engulfed in fire And yet my ship moved on and on With a desperation so dire. The veil of darkness mounted upon it The maelstrom froze the keel The cruel waters jagged hard Wounds, that could not heal. Jaded, fatigued, I pulled the steer The radar unmoved still, The macabre apocalypse would come to pass - The Death’s desire to kill. I roared protest and rose again “I’ll live till I die” And then by magic, a ray of hope! The Sun peeps by. The storm ends, the rush withers I sat unblinking, dazed My ship though broken and jagged to core Has through the danger, sailed. [The sun beats down, waking me in sweats My dream comes to cease A smile encroached on my face sombre I have found my way to peace.] |
