Towards the end of World War II, the living were forced to walk away from the compounds.
PIG, MARCH!
his brother stumbled,
Never to rise again.

PIG, MARCH!
Their toes were frozen,
Never of use again.

PIG, MARCH!
No blade of grass
Ever to eat again.

When liberation came
They couldn't tell -
Would he ever make it.

My father did,
Though not his feet,
Never to walk again.

He devoted his life
To telling all
It must never happen again

Extremism
In any form
Must never rise again
Never, never, never.

But it did.
