This is my 2012 NaNoWriMo Novel |
Introduction Premise One of Lydia Applewhite's bank accounts is drained by K.C. Wainwright, the son of her father's ex-partner, an ex-con again on parole, and her part time grounds keeper. She takes her own brand of vengeance by using an antique and magical/cursed typewriter (she inherited from her grandmother), which has the power to place a living person into a fantasy or science fiction world of the author's choosing. K.C.'s disappearance causes his parole officer to contact K.C. regular employer, who discovers a missing debit card and empty payroll account. The moral of this story is that no human being is a planet unto him/herself. Synopsis Lydia Applewhite is a magic user and author living in a world where magic and technology (computers, etc.) are used side-by-side. Lydia has an antique typewriter, which she inherited from her Grandmother, who found a way to use the typewriter to cast a specific spell. When Lydia writes a story about a living person then the typewriter’s magic transports that person into the story and forced to relive the story as long as the manuscript is in existence. Lydia's father and grandmother used the typewriter and the manuscripts it created to get revenge on those who wronged them. Lydia uses the typewriter in the same way. As a results, there are those Dragonview and else where who know the Applewhites are to blame for the disappearance of relatives, but they do not know how the disappearances were accomplished. These people are out to get revenge on Lydia as the last surviving member of the Applewhite family. |
