A dark poem about a loss of faith and a loss of the one I loved most of all. |
-Far Beyond Apart- by Keaton Foster To love a rose In a wilderness of wolves Impossible receptors Creatures turned precursors And then, just as quick Back again Beyond all reason In the way that they stand In the way that they exist Snapping, snarling Madness, astounding Driving us apart The darkness of their coats Blots out the sun Blots out the light That is me, you, and us Far beyond apart we seem Increasingly I scream Where are you Where have you gone How come I cannot see you How come I no longer know you This love that I have Is a pseudo-sematic disease That still remains While you do not I wish I could close the gap I wish I could destroy such creatures Abominations of creation The challenge to all cause Why we are here is known The answer is quite clear To love and be loved Thus To love a rose A metaphorical person Now planted in the ground No longer a sound No directions forthcoming Towards the sun Into the forever sky While I remain Looking all around Far beyond apart we are We have always been Further still The wolves won’t let me close They know something that I refuse Unwilling to accept, I am doomed Forever alone I am to remain Until my own time Until my own darkness comes through Until then and after, no sun will shine true Only a life without you will reside Having nothing of a choice At times is more than I can bear Far beyond apart we stand… Far Beyond Apart Written by Keaton Foster Copyright © 2012. |
