I Shall Not Falter

The sun may never shine again
And the clouds may go on to rain
But I shall keep my lamp burning
And I shall not falter

The wind may never cool my brow
And the sand may fill my eyes
But I shall blink away the sand
And I shall keep my eyes open

The birds may never sing for me
A song sweeter than honey
But I shall cherish the silence
Made by the crowds around me

If the moon may also refuse
To light my room at night
Then I shall catch a firefly
In a jar and It shall light provide

If my wishes may never be granted
Then I shall keep my hope alive
And i shall catch a falling star
And wish upon it day and night
