What is a friend ?

Capturing something from a self conscious soul
A friend shoots the lines from truths that must be told,

A friend doesn't care for any dangerous realities of power
Or cash in on existence when good times turn sour.

When together they feel that it's really their show
Defenders of their sins that only they will know,

Alone is not enough as we walk from street to street
Brushing shoulders and minds of the friends we've yet to meet,

No regrets or quick returns under arc lights of suggestion
Together sat on the edge of a world they know they shouldn't question,

Storming barricades a friend will roar with strong applause
Leaning on each other, adopting any wars,
