Two lovers look at clouds.
"That one looks like a banana."

Maria pointed at one of the many clouds surfing through the blue sky.  She and Dylan laid in the middle of a green pasture a few miles outside of town.  The only thing that separated their bodies from the crisp-smelling grass was a pillow underneath their heads.

"I think it looks like a pepper."  Dylan said with a grin.

"Oh come on! They both practically have the same shape!"  Maria giggled as she punched Dylan's arm.

"Well practically isn't the same as exact.  I think it looks like a pepper."  Dylan held on to that scry grin that always drove Maria crazy.  Dylan always knew how to get Maria going.  They both loved this back and forth game, but neither would ever admit to it.  They didn't have to.  They had been in love for a long time and knew each other better than each knew themselves.

Dylan looked around nervously.  They had been out in the fields for a while and the feeling of nervousness was beginning to creep in.

"Relax, no one is around."  Maria said with an edge of coolness.  "We don't have to worry about going back just yet."

"I know, I just worry.  You know what would happen if we were caught.  They'd never let us see each other again."  Dylan stared off blankly with a set of worry that always came about when they idled out in public for a long amount of time.

"One day they'll accept us."  Maria said leaning in for a kiss.

"One day, but not today."  Dylan kissed Maria with the same intense passion she always did.  Being lesbian lovers wasn't an easy thing in 1953, but they would never stop loving each other and never stop fighting to retain that love.
