After months of numb limbs,
Stiff necks and twisted legs
We have found a position
Perfect for dreaming.

Those first few weeks were long;
seeing whose leg should go where,
and if it’s okay to lay our heads there.

Finally, after countless futile nights
of sleepless hours
a little bit of magic happened:

Your leg slid under mine,
and I felt your head come to rest
upon the slope of my neck.
