an assortment of thoughts when one lets down her guard
My thoughts
You’re in them
More often then not.

A scenario you never saw
Me, alone in our room,
Emotions so raw.

Lights on in the dawn of morning
Puffing away, music up
Drinking and writing.

‘Bout a quarter till 4
I’d lay on a bed of air
And remember our lives before.

Working my ass off  for a coupla dimes
Came home to an empty cavern
Just a place to pass the time.

My thoughts
I keep them hidden
More than I ought.

I did that all for you
Don’t get me wrong
I know you never asked me too.

I usually don’t allow myself to think
It gets ugly and messy
Desire proves to be my weakest link.

What I want and what I got
Hardly add up to
What life’s brought.

I want a life and I want to settle down
But that doesn’t mean I’m willing
To settle for what life hands me down.

My thoughts
I oppress them daily
But tonight one knocks.
